Mitch McConnell needs to go. When asked about the Republicans' plans for this session of Congress he responds that they're merely waiting to see what the President proposes. In other words - nothing constructive to offer.
This is why the Party is in trouble. Leadership is lacking anything resembling a policy solution for the issues facing the nation. Oops almost forgot - there is "drill baby drill"
A 31 year old Republican State Senator from Northwestern Montana who's served in the Legislature nearly a decade.
I have become increasingly wary of parties, interest groups and the mechanisms that prevent responsible policy solutions. Modern governing is a complex process and solutions are rarely as simple as todays soundbite politics would have us believe. Increasing polarization and partisanship are the greatest threats to our Nation. It is incumbent upon all of us to transcend the status quo in support of a mature political system that promotes responsible governance. As I like to say: "Viewing the world in black and white is a luxury reserved for ideologues, demagogues, and partisans. The challenge for a statesman is to examine all the shades of gray."
